ENERGY ADVISORS & JUNIOR ENERGY ADVISOR TRAINEES

prairieHOUSE Performance Inc is Manitoba’s leading residential building performance consulting firm and EnerGuide Rating System Service Organization.

They are currently seeking Registered Energy Advisors and junior Energy Advisor trainees to join their team to deliver existing and new home services in the areas of southern Manitoba, northern Manitoba, and the City of Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Wage – $19/hour
35 hours/week

Sustainable Building Manitoba is looking for a skilled Communications Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our communication channels, including newsletters, social media, our website, and will support ongoing project development. This role requires a creative and organized individual who can
effectively engage with our audience and support our branding initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of newsletters and other communications materials.
  • Create and schedule social media content, respond to inquiries, and track performance metrics.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s website to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Possess a basic understanding of SMB’s work to provide better support for ongoing projects.
  • Produce high-quality videos for various platforms, including social media and the organization’s website, by applying creative and technical skills in filming, editing, and production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree or a diploma in Communications, Marketing, Film, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, MailChimp, and graphic design/video editing software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Wage – $19/hour

Sustainable Building Manitoba is looking for a dynamic individual to join us as the next Outreach Coordinator. This individual will manage outreach activities, events, and partnerships. This role requires creativity, organization, and a passion for engaging audiences and supporting sustainability. If you enjoy interacting face-to-face with people and want to make a difference, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute outreach activities, including tabling at events, to maximize SBM’s impact.
  • Coordinate event logistics, problem-solving and adapting to challenges as they arise.  
  • Support the promotion of events.
  • Develop tailored communication content for outreach efforts.
  • Assist in updating and managing  the membership database and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Identify and initiate contact with potential project partners.
  • Possess a basic understanding of SMB’s work to provide better support for ongoing projects. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

ENERGY MODELLER

Currently, Crosier Kilgour are looking for an Intermediate Energy Modeller in response to a growing workload within
their Building Performance Assessment practice.
Location: Saskatoon or Winnipeg
Hours: Daytime hours, Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, in-office position
Job Responsibilities:
You would join our group of Engineers and Technologists as a Building Performance Analyst. We work as
a team, taking on growing responsibilities as we challenge each other to improve. Our work includes:
• Generate whole-building energy simulations using IES-VE, interpret results, make
recommendations, and prepare reports documenting analysis and results
• Interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and control system drawings,
specifications, and data sheets to accurately represent building characteristics in energy
modelling software
• Assist design teams in achieving sustainable building certifications such as LEED, Green Globes,
and Zero Carbon Buildings and compliance to current National Energy Code for Buildings,
ASHRAE 90.1, and incentive program (such as GICB and CMHC MLI Select) requirements
• Provide recommendations early in design to achieve cost-effective energy performance
• Prepare performance compliance documentation for code authorities, incentive programs, and
certification organizations
• Perform energy analysis on existing buildings including calibrated energy modelling, field surveys,
feasibility studies, and energy audits
• Perform other technical analyses and research as necessary to support our building performance
team: thermal bridging analysis, carbon accounting, life cycle assessments, air-tightness test
interpretation, daylighting simulation, thermal comfort analysis, building resilience studies, and
researching codes
• Promote the continuous improvement of our building performance assessment practice
• Work as part of a dedicated energy modelling team in which collaboration, mentoring, training,
and inspiring one another to be sustainability experts is expected

BUILDING COMMISSIONING SPECIALIST

Currently, Crosier Kilgour are looking for a Building Commissioning Specialist in response to a growing workload
within their Building Performance Assessment practice.
Location: Winnipeg
Hours: Daytime hours, Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, in-office position
Job Responsibilities:
You would join our group of Engineers and Technologists as a Building Commissioning Engineer or
Technician (entry-level). We work as a team, taking on growing responsibilities as we challenge each other
to improve. Our work includes:
• Focus on commercial building commissioning projects (mechanical, controls, electrical) and
energy management projects.
• Provide design input including specifications, drawing review, systems start-up and testing, plus
operations and maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and external project team members for successful
completion of projects.
• Contribute to research and development in the field of commissioning.
• Promote the growth of the commissioning service group.
• Perform site visits and carry out site inspections.
